- Police are searching for a suspect that is claimed to have assaulted and robbed a man he met on a dating site.
- The victim says he was hit in the face by the suspect, and blacked out while he was robbed by the man.
- Police say the suspect's profile name is 'Ethan.'
The assault took place on the Lincoln County Walking Trail in Lincolnton. The man said he met this suspect around 4 a.m. Wednesday. He told authorities that they met in a parking lot and walked the trail for about five minutes and then sat on the river bank talking until the suspect said he had to go to the restroom.
Then he said the suspect walked behind him and hit him in the face, causing him to blackout. When the man woke up, he saw the suspect running. The man alleges the victim took “his cap and head light, $300 in cash, and a vape pen and tubes.'
The victim was taken to Atrium Health in Lincolnton after going to a convenience store for help
Police are looking for the suspect, who goes by the name of “Ethan” on the site.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.
